Reaching CBT - MCAS:
Centre for Biotechnology of Muthayammal College of Arts & Science is located in Rasipuram, an important town in Namakkal District of Tamilnadu, a Southern state in India.
Reaching Rasipuram: Rasipuram is a historical town and was formerly known as Rajapuram. It is very famous for Education & Ghee. The town is situated 240KM away from Bangalore, 165KM away from Coimbatore, 36KM away from Salem and 130KM away from Trichy. The nearest railway junctions are Salem, Attur, Erode and Trichy. Rasipuram is well connected by buses from the above-said junctions.
If you are from southern part of Tamilnadu, get down at Andagalore Gate on the Trichy-Salem National Highway (NH-7) which is at 4KM away from Rasipuram. Andagalore Gate is an important bus terminal of Rasipuram (all buses from Erode, Namakkal to Rasipuram reaches this terminal before entering into Rasipuram town). There are frequent buses from Andagalore gate to Rasipuram New Bus Stand.
If you are from other than south side, you can easily reach Rasipuram New Bus Stand by bus from above-said railway junctions.
The College campus with imposing buildings is situated 5 KM away from Rasipuram on the east in a calm, serene, rural area. The campus is located on Rasipuram to Attur State Highway after the Engineering and Polytechnic premises.
From Rasipuram New Bus Stand: There are a good number of buses from Rasipuram New Bus Stand to MCAS almost every 2 or 3 minutes. If you have light luggage (a bag or attache) you could consider taking a bus to MCAS. Once you reach the New Bus Stand, you can easily reach the College Campus within 5 minutes by bus. If you have luggage, an auto-rickshaw would be the most comfortable option. The fare will be about Rs.50 for an auto-rickshaw to the School from New Bus Stand.
Climate: The climate is generally hot and humid. In summer (May-July) the temperature reaches up to 43C while in winter (Dec.-Feb.) it is slightly less hot, 19C. The monsoon season starts in Oct. and lasts till Dec.
